Surviving
the board examination
 THE
EXAM

Absolutes such as always, never, and only are
usually wrong.

Read the stem (the information in the actual
question) to figure out the answer. It is usually the last sentence
that is the actual question. Often, the bulk of the information is
superfluous.

Look for clues in the case history.

Limit yourself to only 1 - 2 minutes per
question. (The board allows 2 minutes per question).

Take the best educated guess if you do not
know for sure; your
first answer is your best.
-
Pace yourself--look at how many questions in
a particular session and determine at what time you should have half of the
test completed.
